To ensure your artwork remains in pristine condition for years to come, please follow these care instructions:
1. Dust Regularly
Gently dust the surface of your canvas or framed picture with a soft, dry microfiber cloth or a feather duster.
Avoid using abrasive materials like paper towels, which can scratch the surface.
2. Avoid Direct Sunlight
Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause colors to fade over time.
Hang your artwork in a spot with indirect light or use UV-protective glass for framed pieces to preserve vibrancy.
3. Maintain a Stable Environment
Keep your artwork in a room with moderate humidity (40-50%) and a stable temperature.
Avoid hanging art in areas prone to moisture, such as bathrooms or kitchens, as this can cause warping, mold, or damage to the frame.
4. Handle with Care
Always hold framed pictures and canvases by the frame, not the canvas or glass.
When moving or transporting artwork, wrap it in bubble wrap or a soft cloth to protect it from scratches or impacts.
5. Clean Glass Carefully
For framed pictures with glass, use a glass cleaner and a soft cloth to clean the surface. Spray the cleaner onto the cloth, not directly onto the glass, to avoid liquid seeping into the frame.
Avoid pressing too hard, as this can damage the artwork underneath.
6. Avoid Harsh Chemicals
Never use harsh cleaning agents or solvents on canvases or frames, as they can damage the materials.
For stubborn stains on a canvas, consult a professional conservator.
7. Hang Securely
Use appropriate hooks, nails, or wall anchors to ensure your artwork is securely hung.
Avoid hanging heavy pieces on weak walls or in areas where they might be bumped or knocked over.
